HEBREWS 1
1 God, who long ago in lots of parts and lots of ways spoke to the fathers through the prophets, 2 in these last days speaks to us in a son whom he appoints heir of everything, through whom he also made the ages – 3 who, being from the radiance of his glory and the true image of his essence, and sustaining both:
5 For to which of the angels has he ever said, “You are my son, today I have given you birth”?
And again: “I will become his father and he will become my son.”
6 And yet again, when he led his firstborn into the world he’s saying, “Let all God’s angels worship him.”
7 But surely to the angels he says, “He makes his angels spirits, and his ministers a fire’s flame.”
8 Yet to the son, “God, your throne lasts into the eternal age; uprightness’s rod is your kingdom’s rod. 9 You love righteousness and you hate lawlessness, so God, your God, anoints you, rather than your companions, with the oil of celebration.”
10 And, “In the beginning, Lord, you created the earth, and the heavens are the works of your hands. 11 They will be getting destroyed yet you are permanent. 12 Just like outfits all these things will get old, and as if they were a scarf you will be wrapping them up and they will get changed. But you are the same and your years will never be finishing up.”
13 Yet to which of the angels has he ever said, “Sit at my right hand until I have made your enemies a footrest for your feet.”? 14 Aren’t they all actually servant spirits who are being sent to support those who are heirs of salvation?
- everything by the word coming from his power, and
- the cleansing he had through himself just made for sins,
5 For to which of the angels has he ever said, “You are my son, today I have given you birth”?
