Woohoo, you must have something exciting to share to day, Dave!
Well, I just wanted to point out the fact that these guys were set apart to prophesy, that is, to give a word from God, accompanied by music. Do we ever really see our music in Church this way? Do we take as much care over its theology as we do (or at least should do) over our sermons? David had a bunch of guys specifically charged with the task of making music about and to God, but also with a message from God.
Have you thought about how powerful that is? As Tobymac said once, and I'm quoting from memory so it's only approximate, "Music can take words places that words alone can never go." Also truth implants itself more deeply and permanently into our hearts when it is carried there by music.
Music is a wonderful gift, so let's use it the best way possible, and not cheapen it to be just entertainment in a Church context.
