2 THESSALONIANS
...
2 We ask you, brothers, because of the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our assembling before him, 2 that you aren’t easily disturbed in your mind or alarmed, either by spirit, by word or by letter supposedly from us saying that the day of Christ has arrived. 3 No one should be deceiving you in any way, for the departure is coming first, as is the revealing of the man of sin, the son of destruction, 4 who opposes and lifts himself above everything that is called ‘god’, and all that is worshipped, so that, as God, he sits in God’s temple to proclaim that he is God. 5 Don’t you remember that when I was with you I told you these things? 6 And so you are aware of the present restraining, that he may be revealed in his time, 7 for the mystery of lawlessness is currently operating only until the restrainer is taken out of the midst. 8 Then the wicked one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the spirit of his mouth and take down with the appearance of his presence, 9 whose coming is in accordance with the activity of Satan with all counterfeit powers, signs and miracles 10 and in all kinds of deceit coming from sinfulness in the ones who are being destroyed because they do not accept the love of the truth so that they may be saved. 11 For this reason God will send them the activity of deception so that they will believe the lie, 12 and that those who don’t believe the truth but take pleasure in sinfulness will be judged.
