This is a repository of Dave Carr's bible translations and musings.
I'm just an Aussie guy who loves God and his Word and wants to make it accessible. As I gradually work my way through parts of the Bible I'll place the translation up here. I pray that you'll see the Father, Son and Holy Spirit just a little more clearly through it, somehow.
My approach to translation is based on Revelation 22:18-19 and can be summarised as "don't leave out what is there, don't add what's not". I have a very high view of the inspiration of scripture - in its original form the text is exactly what God wants us to hear. I try to bring that out as much as possible. I confess that, while I go to great pains to make it read nicely, when it comes to the crunch I will sacrifice readability for accuracy to the original text since my greatest concern is representing God's Word faithfully.
My overarching disclaimer is that this will always be a work in progress, even the bits already done, but I will do my best to avoid errors and fix them up as soon as possible.
Grace and peace.

Helpful hints:
- The pages with the full name of the book (e.g. 'Hebrews') have the complete text (as much as I have completed). That is, all chapters on one long page.
- Pages with abbreviated titles (e.g. 'Heb 1') have just that chapter - done for ease of access to specific texts. Any comments or explanatory notes will be indicated with an asterisk (*) on these pages only, and found at the bottom. These will not appear on the 'complete book' pages.
- Yes, mostly I do know when I'm going against conventional translational wisdom. That's fine, take it as it is.
